Avonik is a privately held global consulting and technology services company located in western Switzerland. Our headquarters is conveniently situated between the regions largest cities of Lausanne and Geneva and easily accessed via Geneva’s international airport and major highways.

Our team consists of of internationally experienced and industry recognized experts in their respective fields.  Management

Avoniks’ CEO is Mr. Philippe Schlier, the founder and former CEO / CTO of GSX Groupware Solutions. He founded GSX in 1995 and led the organization to become the leading software editor in monitoring and management tools such as: Lotus Notes, Exchange,BlackBerry and several others.

Mr. Schlier’s company consisted of an impressive list of over 500 clients world wide. 27% of his clients were the enviable who’s who on the Fortune 100 list. In 2008 Mr. Schlier sold GSX to private investors and remained in GSX for one more year as CTO.

Mr. Schlier held positions within IBM and Accenture (formerly Arthur Andersen/Andersen Consulting) and worked as contractor for many large organizations.

He was educated at Polytech'Nice University and holds a Masters degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Science Engineering.

 Cover Your ass, hire one of the big 3 ...

All independent or small IT consulting firms have already heard this statement when competing for a contract with the large consulting firms. This is the "no risk" management strategy consisting of working exclusively with well established companies. Our hope is that one day management will be rewarded based on their own decisions, vision for the future and tangible benefits for their company.

Big consulting firms primarily sell consulting hours or products and basically inform you what is already known, nicely packaged with their label. This adds no value to the client. They cleverly inform a client “what” should be done however should you require the  tangible results of “how “plus the resources to implement…..extra consultancy hours are required. This philosophy is one that serves these large firms financially well but may not address the best interests of the client.

This form of business model inevitably results in the intellectual capital retained by external resources, followed by external contractors leading or influencing the IT department instead of internal managers, concluded by budgets and resources being dictated by these externals. Avoniks team understands this model very well, we have experienced and worked on both sides of this equation. It is no accident IT departments are outsourced or decentralized when there appears to be a conflict of interest. Avonik's objective isn't to hold your company hostage by absorbing your intellectual capital and sell more consultancy but to assist you in making the “right” decisions, select the right solutions based on your needs and what is best for your company….not ours.
